Warlock’s Grave Logo
Warlock’s Grave is a neo-psychedelic/garage rock band based in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, MI. PULP, Ann Arbor’s online music and art publication, described their sound as having a “‘70s classic rock throwback feel a la Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult, with an authentic sound that’s hard to pigeonhole.”
The band wanted a logo with a sketchy, slightly vintage feel, reminiscent of something you’d see on an old rock poster. Each member of the band chose a different color variation as their favorite, so the complete package included them all, giving them lots of options for their advertising and merchandise.
I couldn’t resist asking about the origin of the band name, and found out that it’s based on a local urban legend. According to the legend, there is a haunted grave of an actual warlock that exists deep in the woods under a dead oak tree. And if that’s not metal, I don’t know what is.
