Welcome to Reality Album Cover
Once United is an Indie/Alternative/Rock band from Ann Arbor, MI. They have been performing together since 2013, and were about to release their third album when they asked me to design their new cover.
I styled it using a photograph that reminded me of both a portal and an alien planet; it was actually the porthole window of an old shed that was filled to the brim with scrap wood. This interesting and unexpected view into another space seemed fitting for the album name, “Welcome to Reality.” I chose to contrast the green-tinged wood with crisp red typography to add more visual interest on an otherwise calm and muted background.
